Chuck Law works in oil. His paintings are included in private collections throughout the United States as well as Europe. He has garnered countless top awards for his work. Previously recognized for his unique still life series the "Scatter Paintings", Chuck began a new phase in his art careeer in the autumn of 2007. He joined forces with the daily painters (a large loosely organized group of artists that post small "Daily Paintings" on the internet. ) This discipline eventually led him to seek outdoor subjects; an idea that initially made the artist uncomfortable, but now has become the driving creative force behind his work. After completing one year of almost daily plein air paintings in 2008, Law made the commitment to continue exploring landscape, both on location and in the studio. Chuck has taken workshops with such noted artists as Kevin Macpherson, Joseph McGurl and Skip Whitcomb to further his understanding of painting nature.
Born to a military family in Nice France, Chuck Law spent his time growing up living in Southern New Jersey and Norfolk, Viriginia. An award winning artist in his teens, by the time Chuck left high school in 1978 he was deeply afflicted with drug addiction and alchoholism. In October of 1990 he began a new life and by the mid 90s he was painting again on a regular basis. He resides in Linwood, N.J. with his partner of 18 years, his beloved pets and his carefully tended gardens. Chuck was a floral designer for 25 years and now works with flowers on a part time basis as he continues to advance his career in the art world.
